Movies that Rock: Gone With The Wind

Learnex, English Forever ¡Aprende Inglés para Siempre!

It was one of the first major movies to be made in splendid and expensive Technicolor, Gone With the Wind is an epic from the golden age of moviemaking. Overblown and melodramatic, it somehow achieves more than the schmaltz of its parts, thanks to a spirited modern heroine, the spoilt Scarlett O’Hara, and its refusal to give us the neat conclusions you’d expect from a 19th-century saga of «cottonfields and cavaliers».

The story of kittenish belle Scarlett O’Hara, a princess of the old south, her love for the doomed and self-consciously gallant gentleman Ashley Wilkes, and the fascination that a certain handsome rogue by Clark Gable conceives for her.

This movie involves an atmosphere in such a great way where and with the technological material of its age that turns it in an instant classic and of course, a totally “movie that Rock”.

Watch movies with subtitles in English, in order to understand clearly what the people is saying in scene.
