Come and Seek Out New Experiences and Challenges

Learnex, English Forever ¡Aprende Inglés para Siempre!

Dr. Robert Cloninger, a worldwide recognized American psychiatrist, mentioned that “novelty seeking is one of the traits that keeps you healthy and happy and fosters personality growth as you age”. He also stated that, although this novelty seeking may lead to antisocial behavior, “if you combine this adventurousness and curiosity with persistence and a sense that it’s not all about you, then you get the kind of creativity that benefits society as a whole”.

To complement this, those who are exceptionally talented, or gifted, also are in a constant pursuit of new challenges so they can grow and acquire new, valuable information. For example, when they face a new situation such as the usage of new tools, software, etc., they don’t feel intimidation or they are not afraid of using it; on the contrary, these people embraces the chance of pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and engages themselves to learn the appropriate use of these new elements.

They feel more relaxed, more comfortable with a learning curve, and they don’t permit the discouragement to enter in their minds if they don’t obtain the desired results in the first tries. They will always do their best in order to obtain what they consider it’s the best outcome for them.
