The origin of this villages comes from a decorative tradition in Salem, North Carolina and Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Since in those days having or buying a Christmas tree was expensive, they decide to celebrate Christmas but with a new and cheap method, that helped families with low resources, have a nice holiday.

In Mexico this kind of decorations have been increasing recently because we are used to only have a Christmas tree and other decorations, but now that we have the Christmas tree, the Christmas village, boots and an advent calendar the celebration of this is specific holiday is particularly beautiful and full of joy and with a lot of Christmas spirit, nonetheless.
